Let’s Unite

Sabela’s debut song ‘Masibambaneni’, a call to South Africans to unite and be strong during these challenging times.

From their homes, a group of South African music legends have come together to create a song to help raise funds for musicians all over the country. Due to the nationwide lockdown preventing them from working, many musicians have been catapulted into financial struggles due to lack of work during these difficult times.

Under the leadership of the project initiator and Executive Producer Mark Roth, in collaboration with Co-Executive Producer Ayanda Holo and the renowned pianist Afrika Mkhize as Composer and Producer. Legendary vocals by Mbongeni Ngema, Zenzi Makeba Lee, Suthukazi Arosi, Lindelani Lee, Phinda Mtiya Matlala, Zamo Mbutho, Skipper Shabalala and Madala Kunene on vocals and guitar. Bernice Boikanyo is on drums, Godfrey Mgcina on percussion, Fana Zulu playing bass, Afrika Mkhize on Keyboard, the kora played by Pops Mohamed and Louis Mhlanga on Guitar.

The song was created virtually from each members’ respective home, using the internet, phones and software applications to bring it all together, making it a very interesting project.
